Types of down jacket quilting

Duvets are made using the quilting process; there are currently two types of quilting:

BOX QUILTING

Box quilting uses internal spacer tapes between the squares that make up the duvet. The spacers ensure an even distribution of the filling, improving insulation and thermoregulation. Box quilting ensures that the feathers are evenly distributed across the entire surface, preventing unnecessary heat loss and turning the duvet into a true barrier against the cold. Duvets with box quilting are intended for those who suffer from low temperatures and need the warmest duvets on the market. For this reason, we use this technique for our super-filled 6* duvets, the warmest range among our products.

FIXED-SQUARE QUILTING

This type of quilting uses seams that join the upper and lower fabrics, creating closed squares. The filling is evenly distributed inside these squares. Fixed-square quilting keeps the filling evenly distributed and increases breathability.

ACTUAL DUVET SIZE

Duvets, being quilted and filled products, tend to shrink by a few cm due to the “bumps” created by the quilting. A 250x200 duvet may in fact have an actual size of 240x190, as the fabric is raised by the heavily padded quilting. The cover is the correct size; by stretching the quilting and measuring it, you will indeed see that the cover size is correct.
