THE ORIGINS OF SCANDINAVIAN STYLE

Winters in Northern Europe are long, cold, and dark. That is why home furnishings are chosen to brighten spaces, using furniture and fabrics in light, warm colors. Thanks to designers such as Alvar Aalto and Wegner, Scandinavian style has been enriched with minimalist, harmonious furniture that helps create modern, welcoming spaces.

THE COLORS OF SCANDINAVIAN STYLE

Furniture and fabrics are chosen in light, warm shades such as white, beige, cream, or ivory. To add splashes of color, pastel shades such as antique pink or dusty blue are used. It is essential to avoid colors that are too dark or bright and clash with the room, as everything should always remain harmonious.

Light-colored natural wood, such as fir or oak, is used for the furniture. For the floors, light oak or beech parquet is preferred, as it brightens the room. Home linens follow the same principle: natural fabrics such as cotton or satin in harmonious, light, neutral colors that complement the rest of the room.

A NORDIC-STYLE BEDROOM

On the bed is a warm Campiglio model duvet, perfect for winter, wrapped in a beautiful Sand-colored duvet cover in natural cotton sateen. The sheets, also in soft cotton sateen, are Beige to complement the room’s palette with subtle shades.

For her Nordic-style bedroom, Elli chose a matte faux-leather bed that echoes the colors of the stone wall behind it. The parquet flooring and wooden nightstands enhance the room while keeping it clean-lined and harmonious.
