Oeko-Tex Certification

Protecting health

OEKO-TEX Standard 100 is the best-known certification in the textile industry, created to protect consumers’ health and issued to companies that pass tests for harmful substances. When a product bears the OEKO-TEX symbol, it means that every part of it (thread, filling, button, zipper, print, coating and packaging) has passed tests for harmful substances and is therefore safe for people.

Registration for the certification is legally binding, so there is no way to counterfeit it. To obtain it, products must undergo several tests, checking almost 300 substances, conducted by Oeko-Tex partner institutes, which verify:

• the absence of substances prohibited by law;
• the proper use of substances regulated by law;
• the absence of the main chemical substances known to be harmful to health but not yet regulated;
• that the products comply with the parameters for protecting health.
