How to choose the right down comforter for the bed?

Don't know how to choose the duvet for your bed?
Here is some useful information that will help you choose the duvet best suited to you.
FILLING
The first distinction to make concerns the filling. Natural duvets are characterized by three different types of material: there is down, which comes from the animal's undercoat and is the most valuable, the feather, which is the plumage without the quill, and then the small feather (that is, the little feathers). Let's look specifically at the differences between the 3 possible fillings.
FEATHER
The feather is quite large and is mainly used to stuff sofas or mattresses, providing excellent support and great breathability.
DOWN
Down is a lightweight, soft, smooth, breathable, insulating, and thermoregulating material. It appears in the form of flakes and weighs between 2 and 3 milligrams. The down flake has an enormous capacity to trap air; this allows it to compress and then return to its natural size. Thanks to these characteristics Down is a raw material mainly used in clothing.
SMALL FEATHER
The small feather is a tiny feather composed of a shaft, called calamus, from which the “barbs” branch out and is mainly used as pillow filling.
The quality of the down determines the quality of sleep. We have decided to make our down comforters starting from a minimum of 90% goose down and 10% small feathers, up to a 100% pure down filling.
For our 100% down products – such as the Monaco, Campiglio, Gran Paradiso lines – we select Downpass certified down. Through this certification, it is possible to trace every batch of material. It is rare to find garments with better fillings than our down comforters.

COVER
Our choice for the cover is cotton. This is because cotton is a 100% natural breathable fiber – unlike materials such as polyester – as well as durable and resistant.
For our products, depending on the line, we have chosen cotton covers with different thread counts. We start with our Basic line with a 250-thread cover, up to the Luxury line with a 450-thread cover. In general, the higher the cotton thread count, the greater the material's durability, ensuring a high-quality product. Thanks to the Nomite certification, we guarantee that all our comforters are suitable for use by people who suffer from dust allergies.
FILLING POWER
This parameter defines the ratio between the volume of the filling and its weight. Its unit of measurement is CUIN. The higher the Filling Power, the better the quality of the down. A high volume and low weight indicate that the product is made using rich and voluminous, high-quality down.
Generally, the filling power ranges between 400 and 850.
Our lines range from 550 to 850 CUIN.

HEAT POINTS AND TOGS
Heat points and Togs indicate the degree of thermal insulation compared to the external environment and vary according to the weight of the down.
When a product is able to retain heat, it is measured in togs (the higher the value, the more heat it retains). Heat points help to understand the seasonality of the comforter: the higher the heat points, the more suitable the comforter will be for cold environments and seasons. Conversely, the lower the heat points, the more suitable the comforter will be for warm climate periods.
Our lines range from 4 to 12 togs and from 2 to 6 heat points.
